Pride Month is all about coming together while embracing our individuality and celebrating our unique strengths and capabilities. At SYKES, we have always championed diversity and inclusion within our workplace, creating a safe space where we can encourage our SYKESers to be their best and brightest selves. Every year, SYKES takes part in celebrating diversity and inclusion, coming up with pocket activities that showcase our support for the LGBTQIA+ community. The last event that we hosted was in 2019, prior to the pandemic, where we had a Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIE) Orientation at our Cebu site. For this year, we are celebrating Pride virtually through our special social media Pride pack. It includes a Facebook frame, Instagram filters, and virtual stickers which our employees may use to share their message of support. You can check them out here: Facebook: bit.ly/PrideFilterFB Instagram: bit.ly/PrideFilterIG Frame: bit.ly/PrideProfileFrame Stickers: Search for We All Belong or SYKESPride on IG’s GIF Library Globally, SYKES also continues to champion diversity and inclusion all year round, creating policies and integrating them into our daily interactions. We understand that our commonalities are greater than our differences, but it is in those differences that we will find strength and expand our capabilities as an individual and as a community. At SYKES, we all belong. Read more about our DE&I efforts here: SYKES Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Website SYKES Standards of Conduct Gender Equality Efforts Pride Month Celebration 2019
SYKES’ annual sports fest is an event that many of our SYKESers look forward to. We hold month-long tournaments and host a family day for everybody. It’s a way for teams to strengthen their camaraderie and enjoy quality time outside of work. While we cannot be physically together, SYKES has transformed its sports fest into a series of virtual events, focusing on overall employee wellness. We understand that we live in a difficult time, and while physical interaction will always be different, staying connected and feeling supported even online is still important. #SYKESALLIN2021 This year’s sports fest is called SYKES ALL IN, a theme that calls for hard work, collaboration, and camaraderie. It also captures a more holistic approach to the event, intentionally varying our activities to encourage more of our SYKESers to join. In lieu of our usual sports competitions, SYKES is holding six online tournaments, each tapping into our participant’s brainpower, physical abilities, and teamwork. The event started in April, with multiple activities scheduled until June. Battle of the Brains Virtual Tournaments: Chess & Quiz Night Our SYKESers are challenged to test their knowledge, logic, and critical-thinking skills during the first 2 activities of our virtual sports fest. Problem solvers and aspiring chess masters were invited to a virtual chess tournament, held through the Lichess platform. Over 80 participants registered for the event, with the top 3 bringing home cash prizes. For trivia lovers, SYKES hosted the Quiz Night tournament, challenging the participant’s knowledge in fitness, health, and wellness. Over 100 players signed up for the elimination games held last April 24. Top teams from Manila (Team Single) and Cebu (Team Wall Street Syndicate) are scheduled to go head-to-head during the finals game this June 5. Make sure to catch the live battle by tuning in on our social media pages. Battle of the Fittest Virtual Tournaments: Workout Routine Challenge & Dance Competition For those who love physical activities, we will be hosting a workout routine challenge where participants will perform different exercises on-cam. Registration for the event is scheduled to open this May, with an opportunity for employees to win huge prizes. SYKES performers are also invited to join the Dance Competition, where they can showcase their moves and creativity. With the challenges in logistics, participants are forced to recreate dance routines without their teammates being physically around. Submission for the competition is open until May 28, with grand winners bringing home P50,000. Battle of the Gamers E-sport Tournaments: Call of Duty Mobile and Mobile Legends With the success of last year’s e-sports tournament for Mobile Legends, we are bringing it back and adding the Call of Duty Mobile competition for our resident gamers at SYKES. Big prizes await teams who will join the tournament! Just like last year, teams will battle it out during the elimination games, with the top teams representing Manila and Cebu going face-to-face in the finals. Both final matches will be streamed live on our social media pages (@SYKESPHOfficial and @SYKESCebuOfficial) with CODM scheduled on May 29, and Mobile Legends scheduled on June 26.
